A valid e-mail address. All e-mails from the system will be sent to this address. The e-mail address is not made public and will only be used if you wish to receive a new password or wish to receive certain news or notifications by e-mail.

Terms of Use

Communitybuyer, one of NICVA's family of websites, is a directory of individuals and private, social economy and Fair Trade suppliers which provide products and services to the voluntary sector in Northern Ireland. Your use of communitybuyer.org's products, services and website is subject to the terms and conditions represented below (excluding any services provided to you by NICVA under a separate written agreement).

The terms form a binding agreement between you and NICVA in relation to your use of the communitybuyer.org site. It is important that you take the time to read them carefully.

1. Your relationship with communitybuyer/NICVA

1.1 The directory is provided for information purposes only and the inclusion of any supplier in the directory does not constitute a recommendation by NICVA (and/or any of the organisations represented on the site) unless otherwise agreed in writing with NICVA.

2. Accepting the terms

2.1 In order to register on the communitybuyer site, you must first agree to the terms. You may not use the site to advertise your services if you do not accept the terms.

2.2 You can accept the terms by:
a) clicking to accept or agree to the terms, where this option is made available to you by NICVA in the user interface; or
b) by actually registering on the directory. In this case you understand and agree that NICVA will treat your use of the directory as acceptance of the terms.

3. Use of the communitybuyer service by you 

3.1 In order to access the communitybuyer service, you may be required to provide information about your organisation (such as identification or contact details) as part of the registration process for the service. You agree that any registration information you give to NICVA will always be accurate, correct and up to date.

3.2 You agree to use the communitybuyer service only for purposes that are permitted by a) the terms and conditions and b) any applicable law, regulation or generally accepted practices or guidelines in the UK.

3.3 You agree to encourage your customers to comment on and rate the experience they have had with your company and its services within the review section of the communitybuyer site.

3.4 Unless you have been specifically permitted to do so in a separate agreement with NICVA, you agree that you will not reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell or use NICVA trade names, trademarks or service marks in any of your company's marketing literature.

3.5 You agree that you are solely responsible for (and that NICVA has no responsibility to you or to any third party for) any breach of your obligations under the terms and conditions and for the consequences of any such breach.

4. Provision of services by NICVA

4.1 Communitybuyer is constantly being developed in order to provide the best possible experience for its users. You acknowledge and agree that the form and nature of the services which NICVA provides may change from time to time without prior notice to you.

4.2 As part of the continued development, you acknowledge and agree that NICVA may stop (permanently or temporarily) providing the communitybuyer service (or any feature within the service) to you or to users generally at NICVA's discretion, without prior notice to you. You may stop using communitybuyer at any time. You do not need to specifically inform NICVA when you stop using the service.

4.3 Advertising costs have been set by NICVA to reflect the positions in the site and to encourage those within the voluntary and community sector to advertise their own social economy products and services as outlined in the communitybuyer advertising rates.

4.4 NICVA will moderate all comments before they become live and contact you to advise you of any negative comments. It will be your responsibility to resolve any issue you have with a customer.

5. Privacy and your personal information

5.1 For information about NICVA's data protection practices, please read NICVA's privacy policy at LINK to policy. The policy explains how NICVA treats your personal information and protects your privacy when you use the communitybuyer service.

6. Content

6.1 NICVA reserves the right (but shall have no obligation) to pre-screen review, flag, filter, modify, refuse or remove any or all content from the communitybuyer site that it deems is not in keeping with NICVA's aims and values. Link to NICVA's aims and objectives

6.2 You understand that all information such as written text, photographs or other images added to individual listings are the sole responsibility of the company from which such content originated.

7. Content from you

7.1 You agree that you are solely responsible for (and that NICVA has no responsibility to you or to any third party) for any content that you create or display while using the communitybuyer.org service.

7.2 You retain copyright and any other rights you already hold in regard to the content you submit, post or display on the communitybuyer site. By submitting or posting content you give NICVA the right to reproduce, adapt, modify and publish any content which you post or display on the communitybuyer website.

7.3 You confirm and warrant to NICVA that you have all the rights, power and authority necessary to grant permission to publish text, content and graphics regarding your organisation.

8. Ending your relationship with NICVA

8.1 The terms will continue to apply until terminated by either you or NICVA.

8.2 NICVA may at any time terminate its agreement with you if:

  • a) you have breached the terms and conditions (or have acted in a manner which clearly shows that you do not intend to comply with NICVA's aims and values) Link to aims and objectives; 
  • b) NICVA is no longer providing the communitybuyer.org service.

8.3 Nothing in this section shall affect NICVA's rights regarding provision of the communitybuyer service under section 4 of the terms and conditions.

9. Other content

9.1 The communitybuyer site may include hyperlinks to other websites or content or resources. NICVA may have no control over any websites or resources which are provided by companies or persons other than NICVA.

9.2 You acknowledge and agree that NICVA is not responsible for the availability of any such external sites or resources, and does not endorse any advertising, products of other materials on or available from such websites or resources.

9.3 You acknowledge and agree that NICVA is not liable for any loss or damage which may be incurred by you as a result of the availability of those external sites or resources, or as a result of any reliance placed by you on the accuracy or existence of any advertising, products or other services on or available from such websites or resources.

10. Changes to the terms

10.1 NICVA may make changes to the terms and conditions from time to time. When these changes are made, NICVA will make a new copy of available at Link...

10.2 You understand and agree that if you use the communitybuyer service after the date on which the terms and conditions have changed, NICVA will treat your use as acceptance of the updated version.

10.3 The terms and conditions constitute the whole legal agreement between you and NICVA and govern your use of the services (but excluding any services which NICVA may provide to you under a separate written agreement), and completely replace any prior agreements between you and NICVA in relation to the services.

10.4 You agree that NICVA may provide you with notices, including those regarding changes to the terms by email, regular mail or postings on the services.
