Helens Bay Organic Gardens

We are an organic market garden on the shore of Belfast Lough growing, buying in and packing organic fruit and vegetables for delivery to households in the greater Belfast and North Down area.

Our organisation

We grow a large range of fruit and vegetables in our fields at Helen's Bay and combine these with produce from other organic farms in Northern Ireland and certified imports when necessary to provide a complete range of seasonal vegetables delivered to your door. Organic principles are the foundation upon which we work. While there will always be need to import some produce we believe it is important to retain and develop the skills necessary for an indigenous organic agriculture in Northern Ireland that is sustainable and capable of delivering quality food.

What we offer

We supply three sizes of mixed vegetable packs combining roots and greens together with a mixed fruit pack, eggs and bread as optional extras. We have various combinations to suit most households and deliver weekly or fortnightly normally in the afternoon or evenings. Payment is by cash on delivery where possible or monthly if this suits you better. We need only a day's notice if you are going on holidays or otherwise not needing a delivery.

Seasonal produce

This is an idea of what customers receive in the vegetable bags through the year in addition to staples (potatoes, carrots and onions)

October - March

Leeks, kale, purple sprouting broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, swede, parlsey, parsnips and beetroot

April - June

Spring greens, salads and pak choi, early glasshouse tomatoes and cucumber

July - September

Salads, spring onions, Swiss chard, courgettes, tomatoes, broad and runner beans, beetroot, green broccoli, cauliflower, sweetheart cabbage and fennel
